Upon Construction, Hook-up, Commissioning, Maintenance and Shut-down projects.  Specializing in the bringing in of projects “On-time & Under-budget”.  Experienced in organization, Team Building and supply of tried and tested  successful  Logistics & Materials  teams.

Responsible for calculating weights, centres of gravity and centres of buoyancy from design and fabrication drawings of offshore structures, subsea installations and ships. Modelling ships hull steel outfit on a Tribon 3D modelling package. Producing drawings to be used in the production of ships steelwork. Document controller registering and issuing all documents and drawings for project use.

A professional Engineer/Designer with many years experience in team motivation and direction. Used to being in a project environment. with head office and site experience. Also extensive time spent offshore. Continuous employment in piping/mechanical design since 1970. Piping system design in all process areas (onshore) - Piping system design in all areas (offshore) - Conceptual design and front end layout - Liaison With client and discipline engineers - Vessels and equipment installation and orientation - Offshore piping engineering and fault finding - Piping materials and standards.

Experienced in the petro-chemical industries having worked both abroad and in UK, mainly on oil / gas projects, FPSO vessels, and chemical and steel plants. Supervision of onshore and offshore pre-commissioning, commissioning / start-up activities, Inspection, construction and maintenance of static and rotating equipment as well as piping. Work permits and toolbox talks, punch lists, FAT and witness  acceptance.  Capable of writing Procedures from P&ID`S, sub-system definition, coordinating commissioning of major equipment, pipe work and completing documentation for handover packages. Computer literate, excellent written and communication skills, well organised dynamic worker with very good supervisory and  practical experience.

For the past 28 years I have had extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical, petro-chemical, and onshore/offshore oil & gas production industries as a structural design draughtsman. My main work experience includes 3D structural modeling, combined with 2D model extraction. Over the last 10 years I have been employed exclusively on CAD related projects working in the UK and Norway.

Indentured apprenticeship served 1954 – 1960 at the National Supply Company, Stockport UK.  Manufacturers of oil field drilling equipment.  Subsequent years spent as design draughtsman in a variety of industries, including machine tools, aircraft and special purpose machinery.  From 1972 – 1977 on Chemical / Pharmaceutical Plant.  Recent years as Piping Engineer on various onshore and offshore projects.  Overseas experience in Algeria, Libya, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

Qualified Piping Designer/Project Engineer with 25 years of all round work experience in the United Kingdom and overseas, including Norway, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Middle East (UAE/Bahrain), Africa and Poland. Involved in piping & mechanical design projects in a wide range of applications including oil & gas, petrochemicals, industrial chemicals and military/civilian shipping applications and all levels from overall design responsibility through to fabrication/installation. Good supervisory skills and training experience. Technical writing work including preparation of piping installation an testing procedures, QA standards to BS 5750.

Professional experience as Vessel Representative / Piping / MechanicaI / Welding / QA/QC Inspector for the offshore oil and gas industry. Involved in all aspects of fabrication, welding, settig up quality control systems, non-destructive testing, welder qualifications, weld procedure tests, final documentation and liaison between client's Inspectors ensuring all work is carried out to clients specifications. Conversant with applicable codes, standards and specifications normally associated with offshore fabrication as well as methods and techniques
applicable to this type of construction.

38 years experience in the design & construction of Mechanical & Piping  systems related engineering for above & below ground Process,  Mechanical, Utilities Services and Plant Maintenance in the scope of:- Petro/Chemical & Mineral Refining, Gas (L.P.G. / L.N.G.), Nuclear/Conventional Power, Nuclear Research, C.H.P., Water Treatment, Chemical, Mining, Steel, Aluminium, Paper Manufacture and Brewing Plants. I have been involved in Management, Design and the Layout of Mechanical Plant Equipment/Piping to include the preparation of relevant Specifications, Material Selection, Estimating, Stressing, Hazop Studies, Technical Adjudication, Clarification, Construction, Commissioning and Validation throughout the relevant plants.
